PRONUNCIATION:
(uh-lah-tree-AH-fuh-jee)

MEANING:
noun: An abnormal desire to eat things not usually eaten, such as chalk or clay. Also known as pica.

ETYMOLOGY:
From Greek allotrio- (foreign) -phagy (eating). Earliest documented use: 1845.

USAGE:
