ETYMOLOGY:
From Latin frangere (to break) which also gave us fraction, refract,
chamfer, defray, infringe, and fracture. Earliest documented use: 1440.
USAGE:

small, frangible parts -- 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 tendons,
