PRONUNCIATION:
MEANING:
adjective: Relating to or living in flowing water.
ETYMOLOGY:
From Latin lotus (washed), past participle of lavere (to wash). Earliest
documented use: 1916. A counterpart word is lenitic/lentic (living in still water).
