Threatening or menacing.
ETYMOLOGY:
From Latin minari (to threaten), from minae (threats). Ultimately from
the Indo-European root men- (project) that is also the source of menace,
mountain, eminent, promenade, demean, amenable, and mouth.
USAGE:
